Group Rides

Whether you're looking for a casual guided ride from one of our shops, training for your first century, or seeking to tackle the hills with some fellow hammerheads, we have the group ride for you. Use the three icons below to sort by location, type of ride or day of the week. Come roll with us! A few details:

  • HELMETS ARE MANDATORY.  Also, bring money, food, drink, spare tubes, and adequate clothing.
  • Bring a road bike - These rides are intended to be ridden on a road bike. Other bikes are welcome. 
  • You ride at your own risk. You assume all risk of injuries. You are expected to ride safely at all times. Look out for the other person. You undertsand that sometimes crashes happen.

Monday, Labor Day, Sep 5, 20169:00 AM Join us on Labor Day for rides of 25, 40, 50 or 62 miles, fully supported, on smooth, traffic-free roads. Atlanta Cycling is proud to sponsor the event in support of this historic community church which has always been so supportive of cycling. So, bring a friend and enjoy an exceptional ride followed by a superb summer picnic under the Church’s pavilion. Entry spots are limited to a few hundred to insure a quality experience for all. Please register early as we expect another sellout. Donation $30 in advance or $35 day of if spots remain. Ample parking is available at the start. TuesdaysDST March 6:15PM / Apr-Aug 6:30 / Sep 6:15 / Oct 6:00Atlanta Cycling-Vinings “Separate Men’s and Women’s Ride" Beginner, Easy, Moderate 2 separate rides on Tuesdays WOMEN only, please join us for 11, 18 or 22 mile ride on low traffic streets following a painted route with one group at no drop pace. The emphasis will be on meeting others and on becoming more skillful and comfortable while road riding. MEN/MIXED, riding a different route, please join us for a 24 mile ride on low traffic streets following a painted route. Ride stays together at conversation pace until the last 5 miles. WednesdaysDST Mar 6:15 /Apr-Aug 6:30 / Sep 6:15 / Oct 6:00"Ride-in Ride" - ride your bike to the Vinings store for extra miles and to warm up for a very quick paced, 24 mile loop around the Silver Lake neighborhood. Wednesdays April-Aug 6:30, Mar,Sep 6:15, Oct 6:00MTB, Vinings - depart from the Vinings Location to ride the Bob Callen Trail to the MTB trails at Cochran Shoals. Then, return after a loop or two at dusk. The entire route is off-road. The group will split into different rider levels so no one feels pressed. The trail is multi-use and federal so please be courteous to other users to protect the privilege for all. If wet, the trail is closed. Check the SORBA-Atlanta website. Vinings store770-952-7731
Thursdays DST Mar-Sep 5:45 pm / Oct 5:30"Early Bellyache" Moderate, Strenuous DST – Meet us at St. Phillips Cathedral in Buckhead, 2744 Peachtree Rd. We'll ride as a group to intercept the Vinings ride; ride with them to the top of Stella Dr. at Chastain Park before reversing to the church for dinner at Fillini's on P'tree. The emphasis will be on meeting others and on becoming more skillful and comfortable while road riding. Saturdays - returning to old route9:00 am - Year Round"Six Flags" Moderate, Strenuous, Training Ride has returned to the original out and back painted route. Please join us for a 40, 50 or 62 mile ride on rural roads following an out and back painted route. Sunday 8-28-169:00 AMSunday - "The Pocket" at 9:00 - Sharp. We're off to Rome, GA for this superb ride on freshly paved, shaded, rural roads for 62 miles. Well worth the drive time. Route is painted-0nly 8 turns. Maps available at start. This is a valley ride. We'll ride as a group to the store stop. Then, we can split as desired. Lunch at Fuddruckers across from the Baseball Field. Driving Directions - 70 minutes from Atlanta Cycling-Vinings. I-75 N to exit 288, E. Main St, Cartersville, GA, Left on Main; Right at US-41 North; exit to right onto US-411/20, Rome, GA; Right at Loop 1 Rd. at light; continue past baseball. Right onto Martha Berry for 1 mile; watch for Zaxby’s/Toys R Us on right in front of Mall. Start Location - far left or north side of Mt. Berry Square Mall, 2790 Martha Berry Hwy, Rome, GA. Tuesdays and Thursdays 4:30 pm EST Nov- MarWEEKDAY WINTER RIDES - During the winter months, meet at the Vinings store on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4:30 for 20 plus miles at winter pace with a few digs and re-groups. We'll follow a painted route on low traffic streets. It's best to have blinking lights front and rear, but we intend to finish before dark. The SATURDAY rides continue year round as listed.
